| Marble derives from Limestone that has crystallized due to a metamorphic process. One of the ancient building materials, marble was used for columns and most notably for statues. The color of marble is determined by the presence of minerals introduced during formation. For example, if Iron is present during the formation, the stone can have a striking rust colored vein. The beautiful luster of marble is created when light penetrates the surface and reflects off of the crystal within the stone. Due to its elegant appearance, marble is ideal for foyers, flooring, countertops and fireplace surrounds. |
